Turtle Rock’s multiplayer monster-killer Evolve has joined the likes of Witcher 3:Wild Hunt and The Order: 1886 by delaying its release until next year.
Originally due for release October 21 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, the monster-hunting game has been pushed back four months for a release sometime in February 2015 in Europe and North America.
CEO of publisher 2K, Strauss Zelnick, has rushed to assure players that the delayed release of the title is not due to the intense competition against the game in the same month, or the fact that 2K is releasing four other games across multiple platforms in October (Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, Civilization: Beyond Earth, NBA 2K15 and WWE 2K15). Instead he states that the developer will be using the extra four months of development time to polish the game and make it worthy of the multiple awards it won at E3 this year.
The asymmetrical shooter by the ex-Left for Dead team promises the chance to pit four human players against one player-controlled monster in an open world deathmatch where the chances of success can rely on something as simple as watching where you move on the terrain. Unfortunately, thanks to the delay you’ll have to suppress the urges to chase a hulking alien beast through the woods just that little bit longer.
