Game of Thrones co-star Maisie Williams is currently in talks to star in the live-action film adaption of The Last of Us, currently in pre-production with Spider-Man director Sam Rami helming, and a script written by the game’s director Neil Druckmann.

The seventeen-year-old actress is best known around the world for her role as Arya Stark in the HBO hit-series and is being considered for the part of Ellie. Williams is reportedly excited at the idea of playing the popular character and would have been present at the Comic-Con panel in San Diego had she not been busy with a GOT cover shoot by Entertainment Weekly. No contract has been signed at this time.

Druckman stated, “In an ideal world, Ashley Johnson would be 14. But there’s some way to get those actors into the film.” Being only three years older than the character puts Williams in the perfect age bracket to play the role.

In what may have been a concern, or a hope depending on your preference, Druckman’s script was originally going to have a different ending than the game’s, but Sam Rami talked him out of the change. Druckman also stated that Naughty Dog will have the final say in the film’s casting and directing.

Would you like to see Maisie Williams get the part or do you want to see another actress land the role? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below.
