The great thing about MMOs is you get to meet up with thousands of like-minded players, make friends from across the world, and share in one huge experience. Well, today Square Enix announced it’s going to be hosting the first official Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival - areal-world fan meet - in London. As the name implies, the festival is a celebration of everything Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, a game that we felt is worth celebrating, as our 9/10 review demonstrates.
The event, which will be open to European subscribers, will take place in London’s Tobacco Dock on October 25. As an added incentive to attend, attendees will have the chance to meet the development team, participate in in-game events, enjoy live entertainment, bag exclusive loot and “much more”. There were no specifics on which members of the development team will be in attendance, but fans may get to meet Naoki Yoshida, who has some very interesting opinions on the future of videogames.
There will be two ticket tiers. Standard tickets cost £65/ €80, while a VIP ticket will set you back £85/ €104. The VIP tickets get you entry into a special pre-event on October 24, where fans will have more chances to eat, drink and meet the development team. The tickets are available for pre-sale now, and if you’re a subscriber (as of July 9 or earlier) you should have already received an e-mail with the promotion code you’ll need to purchase tickets. If you’re a more recent subscriber you’ll have to wait until July 31 when general ticket sales open and the remaining tickets go up for sale.
Final Fantasy XIV fans across the world needn’t worry though: although no specifics were provided we know that other Fan Festivals will be taking place in Las Vegas and Tokyo on different dates.
