With the DLC for Dark Souls 2, Crown of the Sunken King -the first of a three part series, titled The Lost Crown Trilogy - due for release in only a couple of days (22/07/14), From Software has given us as small taste of what to expect by releasing a few screenshots and a small bit of information on how to get started.

To begin the new adventure, players should activate their DLC to receive the Dragon Talon item and then head on over to the Black Gulch primal bonfire and you should spot something that’s a bit out of place: a warp point in the shape of a snake. A new memory will also make itself available and is accessible, provided you have the usual ‘Ashen Mist Heart’ item. Head on over to the King’s Room in the Undead Crypt to delve into the dark memories of a forgotten king.

We rather enjoyed Dark Souls 2 when it came out, though it isn’t quite as good as the original Dark Souls. “However, despite its faults, Dark Souls 2 is still likely to be one of the best games released this year. It’s engrossing, it has plenty of replay value, and there’s likely plenty of secrets locked away in its depths waiting to be uncovered,” said Brian in his review, before awarding the game a score of 8/10. “but if From Software was hoping to top Dark Souls, they still have some way to go.”

The subsequent 2 epicsodes, Crown of the Old Iron King and Crown of the Ivory King, will be released on 26/08/14 and 23/09/14, respectively.

What do you think? Are you looking forward to the new content, or are you going to give it a miss? Let us know.
