Did you miss out on one of the latest Nintendo 3DS games, Kirby Triple Deluxe? Beyond being a new Kirby adventure with foreground and background action, the game included two notable mini-games. While Kirby’s not a stranger to mini-games (look at Kirby Super Star for a great mini-game collection if you’ve missed out on it), the two in this title were a product of modern times.
DeDeDe’s Drum Dash, a musical runner game, and Kirby Fighters, the Smash Bros. title for people that can’t wait for the actual title, were perfect for pick-up and play gameplay. A song or two in one sitting for Drum Dash, and a round or two of battle in Kirby Fighters would be perfect pick-up and play titles, even if somehow you’re not a fan of the platforming main draw of Kirby Triple Deluxe.
Nintendo has announced that enhanced versions of these mini-games will arrive on the Japanese eShop for 750 yen each, according to Siliconera. The titles, now DeDeDe’s Drum Rush Z and Kirby Fighters Z, will release on July 23, with more songs and levels in the former (and, at least, more stages in the latter).
No word has been made about an American or European release, but the dialogue-minimal games (which already have English versions of the original releases) would seem like a sure-fit.
Understandably, current owners of Triple Deluxe would love to receive these updates, but no word’s been made about it. In an ideal world, free codes could be redeemed if Kirby Triple Deluxe is registered on Club Nintendo, or a free (or even paid DLC) patch to the current games would be acceptable.
