NIS America has announced that role-playing game The Awakened Fate Ultimatum, the sequel to last years’ The Guided Fate Paradox will be coming to PlayStation 3 in North America and Europe sometime next year. The Guided Fate Paradox was received moderately well by critics, so hopefully this sequel can build on the foundations of its predecessor and address some of its shortcomings, such as its uneven difficulty.
Players follows the story of a boy attacked and left for dead by a group of devils. A mysterious girl comes to his rescue and he awakes to find himself in an unknown location. This all takes place against a wider backdrop of a war between angels and devils. The devils have the upper-hand after even after a revolution that culminated in the defeat of Satanael. The angels looking to fight back devised the “Fate Awakeneding Crystal” capable of turning an ordinary human into a God. There’s a catch however, only select humans are able to harness the power of the crystal. We assume this is where the main character fits in.
Interestingly, NIS America has chosen this time to announce The Awakened Fate Ultimatum despite the Japanese version (Kamisama to Unmei Kakumei no Cross Thesis) having yet to be released (July 24). You can see how the game is shaping up in the collection of Japanese screens below. We’ll let you know more as we hear it.
