Warner Bros. Interactive has revealed the exclusive content PlayStation 4 users will get with Batman: Arkham Knight. First mentioned at Sony’s E3 press conference, Sony released a description on the PlayStation website detailing the exclusive content:
“Gotham falls victim to Scarecrow’s fear toxin, transforming the famous city into a twisted, hellish nightmare in the Batman: Arkham Knight Scarecrow Nightmare Pack.
Tear through the city in the all-new batmobile and face off against a towering vision of Scarecrow and his undead army as they spread terror on the streets, available exclusively on PlayStation 4.”
It sounds slightly reminiscent of the Scarecrow sequences from the original Arkham Asylum then, which were sadly absent from Arkham City and last year’s Arkham Origins.
Despite the game’s title opting to focus on the all-knew character of the Arkham Knight, Scarecrow has been confirmed to be the primary villain in Rocksteady’s final entry in the Arkham franchise. Following the death of the Joker in Arkham City, Scarecrow has decided to unite Gotham’s villains in a final bid to kill Batman, aided with a new strain of his trademark Fear Toxin. This supposedly final installment also introduces the Batmobile as a drivable vehicle for the first time, while the entirety of Gotham is open to explore (previous games restricted to you a single section of the iconic city).
Warner Bros. has yet to confirm if this exclusive content will be timed only or exclusive for the title’s lifetime, but we’ll update you when more information is revealed. Batman: Arkham Knight will be released in 2015 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. No specific release date has been announced, but there are rumors it may be coming in January.
