A trailer for Bayonetta 2 was shown off during Nintendo’s E3 digital press conference and there were some pleasant surprises. Bayonetta will be able to don Nintendo themed outfits such as Princess Peach’s pink dress, Link’s green garb and Samus’s Chozo armor. In addition, a port of the first Bayonetta game will be included on disc. We’ve included the trailer in its entirety, as well as a handful of screens for your convenience.
The original Bayonetta released in 2010 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 so it was initially assumed Bayonetta 2 would come to Sony and Microsoft systems. When Bayonetta 2 was revealed however, it became clear it was a Wii U exclusive: a platform choice that left many fans scratching their heads as the series had no attachments to Nintendo. It was soon revealed, however, that without Nintendo’s financial backing following Sega’s cancellation of the title, it’s unlikely that the sequel would ever have seen the light of day. For many Nintendo fans, the inclusion of the original Bayonetta as a bonus in Bayonetta 2 will give them a much-needed chance to catch up on the story - especially as it hardly makes any sense to begin with.
Bayonetta 2 is scheduled for release on the Wii U sometime in October. If you like Bayonetta‘s zany action you might find the lighthearted Xbox One exclusive Scalebound is up you’re alley as it’s made by the same developer.
