We’ve been keeping an eye on Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor for some time now. The prospect of a gritty action-adventure game set in the Lord of the Rings universe that’s not about the Fellowship of the Ring is hard to ignore.
Instead of focusing on the Fellowship, the game will follow the post-mortem exploits of Talion: a man who, along with his family, was killed by Sauron’s forces. Fortunately for Talion, an immortal Wraith spirit decided to bring him back from the veil. His unusual walking-dead status explains the moniker given to him by his enemies - Gravewalker.
Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor will be out for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC on October 7, but we fully expect more details next week at E3.
In the meantime, check out the pre-E3 “Gravewalker” trailer which shows Talion fighting with Azkâr, his trusty ghostly bow and one of many weapons at his disposal.
