Blizzard Entertainment Announces Winner of Azeroth Choppers

AC Alliance

Blizzard Entertainment wanted to spice things up a bit with their upcoming World of Warcraft expansion, Warlods of Draenor. Teaming up with Paul Teutel Jr. of American Choppers fame, Blizzard worked hand in hand with him and his team of motorcycle builders at Paul Jr. Designs to start a mini webseries called Azeroth Choppers. We’ve been watching the teams since April when the mini series started, and you can see our reports on the web series here.

After a few months and eight episodes of the webseries, Blizzard took to the internet and the fans of World of Warcraft over the past few days in a vote for their favorite bike. The winning bike would be reproduced in-game and will be made available to the winning faction for free with the release of Warlords of Draenor.

Today marked the eighth and final episode of Azeroth Choppers, and with it came the unveiling of the winner of the contest. So who won? Horde or Alliance? Paul Jr Designs has been working around the clock to make these two bikes for Blizzard, and it shows in each of them. The Alliance has a sleek and smooth design, made to look like armor and Prince Varian’s shield and swords. And the Horde bike looks as if it’s ready to crush any Alliance scum that stands in its way, as if it came straight out of Orgrimmar’s darkest corners.

If you haven’t seen the webseries, then you’re in for quite a treat. The first six episodes covered the design, fabrication, painting and assembly of the two bikes. Sam Didier, Art Director at Blizzard, was the head of the Horde team, while Chris Metzen, Blizzard Entertainment’s Senior Vice President of Story and Franchise Development, was the face of the Alliance team. The seventh episode unveiled the finished products of both bikes and opened up the voting polls for fans everywhere, and we’ve been anticipating the release of the results since then.

Both motorcycles came out strong and powerful, as if they had rolled straight out of Azeroth itself. But in the end, Horde won favor over Alliance and won the competition. The brutal chain infused, spiked motorcycle will be rendered into game and brought to Horde players everywhere upon the launch of the newest expansion, Warlords of Draenor. Another win for the Horde, now let’s see if they can hold up against the Alliance in-game. Lok’tar ogar!
