Today in a press release, long time publisher of farming RPG Harvest Moon Natsume announced the latest addition to the series, Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley, scheduled to be released on the 3DS sometime later this year. This is the second significant announcement for the series in the last two weeks, as Xseed Games recently announced that they would be bringing the previous 3DS Harvest Moon game Story of Seasons to the United States, following its Japanese release in back in February.

Apparently, players will have access to customization of their fields on a magnitude never before seen in the Harvest Moon series. In the game’s completely 3D world, players will be able to structure their gardens however they see fit and grow whatever vegetation they please.

According to Natsume President & Ceo Hiro Maekawa, “Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley is truly evolving the franchise. Hardcore fans will love it, players who haven’t played a Harvest Moon game in a while will want to try it out, and new players will be introduced to the unique and charming world that is Harvest Moon.”

More details about Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley will be surfacing at E3 next week in Los Angeles, California. Maekawa makes note that “the incredibly exciting thing that really elevates the game is that while it does get back to what everyone loves about the early games, it also innovates in a way that no Harvest Moon game ever has.”
