Finish developer 10tons announced earlier today that the remastered version of the internet cult favorite Crimsonland has been completed, and will be released on June 11 through Steam.
Crimsonland is a top-down duel stick shooter which pits the player against increasingly-difficult waves of zombies and mutants. Weapon drops and perk unlocks are needed to survive. With the remastered version, 10tons has added full Steam support including achievements, stats, leaderboards and online co-op. New game modes will also help bring life to the classic gameplay as players can fight their way through Quest, Survival, Rush, Blitz, Weapon Picker, and Nukefism modes.
CEO of 10tons, Tero Alatalo, had this to say about the updated version: “We’ve had so much fun playing the new edition of Crimsonland. The game simply feels amazing, in single player and especially in co-op mode. I’m really eager to see how the game is received, as Crimsonland is our very first Steam release.”
Alatalo also stated that Crimsonland will be coming to other platforms later this year, and that more details can be found at 10tons’ developer blog. It is great to see this classic game make a comeback, as it has quite the following since its initial release in 2003.
