It’s hard to believe, but it’s been 10 years since Sony first unleashed its hit Karaoke game Singstar on the public. Since then, the game has seen thousands of songs added to its vast library and the game’s popularity is at no risk of slowing down.
To celebrate the franchise’s anniversary, Sony has announced that Singstarwill be released later this year on PlayStation 4, with a number of new features that take advantage of mobile devices. A companion app for Android and iOS will allow you to use your smartphone as a microphone, while PS4 Camera integration will enable you to use various Augmented reality effects such as super-imposing masks on your face, as well as record and upload your performances.
In addition, a compilation disc entitled Singstar: Ultimate Party is due to be released alongside the PS4 launch - compatible with both the PS3 and PS4 versions of the game.
No firm date has been given, but it’s possible that will change next month during Sony’s E3 presentation.
