New Elite: Dangerous screenshots

Frontier Developments has released a batch of new screenshots taken from Elite: Dangerous.

The latest game in the long-running space-faring series is currently in its fourth Alpha phase, and while its final release is still some way off, it’s looking pretty tasty.

Yet another Kickstarter success story, Elite: Dangerous sees David Braben returning to the title which brought him no small amount of fame all the way back in 1984 and which was the first true open-world gaming experience.

From inside the safety of your ship’s cockpit, you’re free to explore the galaxy, either trading goods or engaging in combat. While previous games in the series have been single-player affairs, Dangerous is aiming for a massively-multiplayer experience which will see players interacting with each other on a massive scale.
