Wolfenstein: The New Order is released next week - May 20, to be exact - and to celebrate, publisher Bethesda has released a launch trailer.
Unusually for the series, The New Order is a direct sequel to the 2009 game, rather than a retread of the familiar WW2 story from previous games. Set in the 1960s, it sees B. J. Blazkowicz attempting to overthrow the Nazi Regime following Hitler’s victory during World War 2.
It’s a decidedly old-school shooter, and developer MachineGames has forgone any multiplayer modes - this is a strictly single-player affair. That’s not to say it isn’t worth your time, however: weapons pack a real punch, visually it’s stunningly pretty at times, while both enemy design and the music provide plenty of atmosphere. We’ll have our review of the game shortly after release.
For now, take a look at the launch trailer below.
