Ubisoft has announced that Anno, the city-building strategy game, is coming to iPad under the moniker Anno: Build an Empire

The award-winning Anno series has been around since 1998, and is known for its intuitive gameplay and realistic environments. Build an Empire, developed by Blue Byte and Mi’pu’mi Games, has been re-tooled to be compatible with a touch interface, and features the same city planning and social elements from its predecessors.

Anno: Build an Empire will be available on iPad 2 or higher and requires at least iOS 6 and an internet connection to play. No release date has been given by Ubisoft, except that it is due to be released “soon”.
