Grinding Gears Games, creators of the rather spiffing online ARPG Path of Exile, has announced that they will be partnering with tech companies Razer and Nvidia for a rather interesting 2 week period, designed to benefit both the player and a deserved cause.

The trio have announced that a new Ambush/Invasion race event will be held in Path of Exile over a 2-week period starting on May 10, and wrapping up on May 24. The purpose of this unexpected 2-week-long event is to generate proceeds for the charity Child’s Play.

Participants have a chance to get their hands on an exclusive helmet skin (created specifically for this event), or signed artwork. All proceeds generated by these items will go directly to Child’s Play; for once, you have a legitimate reason to dish out some cash on an in-game item.

Nvidia and Razer are also offering players the chance to win some cool keyboards, graphics cards and mice. Hurrah! Players who reach certain levels will be picked at random, and awarded with a number of prizes.

Characters who reach level 15 have a chance of winning one of 100x stash tab bundles. At level 20, you could win one of a hundred premium stash tab bundles. At level 25, there are 10 Razer mice up for grabs, while, 5 lucky players who reach level 30 will be blessed with Razer keyboards. At level 35, you could find yourself the lucky owner of 5 Nvidia high-performance graphics cards. At level 50, there are 10 sets of all Seraph Micro-transactions (Armor, etc), while at level 65, 5 sets of original signed concept art will be given away. Finally, for one lucky player who manages to reach level 85, the developer is offering a private Q&A over Skype with the masterminds behind Path of Exile.

Grinding Gear Games has also stated that the top 5 players will receive an Alternate Art Demigod’s Bounty unique item.
