UFC Champ Royce Gracie confirmed for EA Sports UFC

Following last weeks’ announcement that martial arts superstar Bruce Lee would be appearing as a playable character in EA Sports UFC, today publisher Electronic Arts announced that the Brazillian jiu-jitsu practitioner, and winner of the first ever UFC tournament, Royce Gracie will also be appearing in the game. Players will be able to access Gracie for the UFC Welterweight division by completing EA Sports UFC on pro difficulty or higher.

The game is based on the Ultimate Fighting Championship, a mixed martial arts tournament with world class level competitors; a brand which is part of EA’s stable of sports properties now that previous rights holder THQ has become defunct.

Though currently in development for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 the game is already available to pre-order. EA Sports UFC is slated for release on June 17 for Xbox One and June 20 for PlayStation 4.
