EA has announced that Dragon Age: Inquisition will launch on October 7th in North America on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, with a European release following on October 10th. To go along with the announcement, a new trailer has been issued, which you can see below.
As is fast becoming the standard, players who preorder via EA’s Origin store will receive several bonus in-game goodies - exclusive weapons, armor and a mount to ride into battle.
Inquisition is the latest installment in Bioware’s fantasy RPG series. It casts players as a member of the Inquisition seeking to uncover the truth behind a mysterious rift that has opened in the sky above the world of Thedas. While the first game opted for traditional top-down gameplay (at least on PC), and the sequel was notable for restricting players to a rather small area in and around a single city, Inquisition is set in an expansive open world. You’ll be able to own your own Keep, recruit a variety of heroes to your cause, and take control of different areas in the world, expanding your influence. Combat, meanwhile, allows you to either fight your opponents in a 3rd-person view in real time, or adopt a more traditional, top-down tactical view of the battlefield. It’s all looking pretty dapper, if you ask us.
