Bethesda has shown off a new trailer for The Evil Within at PAX East.
Helmed by Shinji Mikami and taking cues from recent genre games such as Amnesia and Outlast, the game takes a step back from the action-heavy approach of other horror franchises such as Resident Evil, instead forcing the player to scavenge their environment and avoid combat wherever possible. It all looks rather promising, and the involvement of Shinji Mikami has certainly gained it some attention, as he is seen by many as the godfather of the entire Survival Horror genre.
The Evil Within is due out in late August for Windows PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Playstation 4.
