The team over at Penny Arcade have announced a fourth expansion to their ever growing portfolio. San Antonio, Texas will start hosting PAX South from January next year.

PAX South will take place at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention center between January 23-25, 2015.

The president of Penny Arcade Robert Khoo said the following in a statement;

“Since its launch in 2004, PAX events have doubled in size almost every year, and our Seattle and Boston events represent the two largest gaming festivals in North America,” “We’ve been hearing for years that those in the south had a tough time making it to the northern corners of the country; PAX South has always been a matter of ‘when’ rather than ‘if.'”

This will be the fourth annual PAX event overall and the third in the United States; PAX Prime is based in Seattle and PAX East is in Boston. The fourth PAX event, PAX Australia hosted its inaugural event last fall.
