As detailed on EA’s blog, The Beat, the Battlefield 4 Naval Strike DLC is now available for Battlefield Premium members on Xbox One, along with a patch for all Xbox One Battlefield 4 players that should clear up some of the bugs, glitches and balance issues that have plagued the game since release.
The Naval Strike DLC was originally scheduled for release on March 25, but developer DICE delayed the DLC for both Xbox One and PC in order to address performance issues. Although Xbox One Battlefield Premium members can access Naval Strike today, their PC counterparts may have to wait until early April.
Naval Strike is the third DLC expansion for Battlefield 4 and features four new maps, the new Carrier Assault mode (a re-purposing of the cult classic Battlefield 2142’s Titan mode,) an exclusive hovercraft vehicle, five new weapons, two gadgets, and ten new assignments.
The Naval Strike DLC will be available to all Xbox One Battlefield 4 players (and not just premium members) in two weeks, but the patch will be available to both tiers of Xbox One members as well as PC Battlefield 4 players. It includes several improvements to the netcode, progression system, weapons and vehicles, and other general improvements, such as a “fix for soldiers getting catapulted when walking on steep surfaces.”
