Screenshots of New Assassin’s Creed Show Off 18th Century Paris

With the critical and commercial reception of of Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag , including our review from Dale Morgan, it should be no surprise that Ubisoft has another Assassins Creed title in the pipeline.

But what might be surprising is the setting, as shown in the below screenshots, which were leaked to Kotaku by an anonymous source. According to the locations shown in the screenshots, which show footage of a game in-progress, the new Assassins Creed title, code-named ‘Unity,’ will be set, at least partially, in 18th century France.

Certainly the French Revolution would be a prime historical event for the Assassin’s and the Templar’s to do battle over, and the pairing of the franchise with the historical time period seems like it could make for a compelling story.

But that’s not all. Kotaku has also reported that there’s a second Assassin’s Creed game slated for this Fall. Code-named ‘Comet,’ the second title will be geared toward Xbox 360 and PS3 users, while the ‘Unity’ game will be exclusively for Xbox One and PS4 (and possibly PC as well).

We’ll give you more information as it unfolds, but in the meantime, check out the screenshots of Assassin’s Creed ‘Unity’ below and immerse yourself in revolutionary France.
