Team NINJA has released a batch of new screenshots for Ninja Gaiden: Yaiba, the upcoming franchise installment which looks to take the traditional series formula and do something a little different with it. Instead of playing as Ryu Hayabusa, players instead take control of Yaiba, a rival ninja left for dead by Ryu and now seeking revenge as a cyborg.
Employing an attractive cel-shaded artstyle while maintaining the high level of blood and gore that the series has become known for, the game is offering a slightly more approachable difficulty curve compared to its infamously tricky bigger brothers.
Yaiba launches on March 21st for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. In the meantime, take a look at the screenshots below.
