Microconsole creator Ouya has teasted a new service that they called ‘Ouya Everywhere’ that will allow players to play games on the Ouya Store without going directly through the consoles hardware
Founder and CEO Julie Uhrman teased the ‘Ouya Everywhere” announcement to SlashDot, although he declined to go into any specifics about the service until the official announcement later this week.
“Right now, our growth is limited by how quickly we can make a box and put it into market… We know that our demand far exceeds our ability to do that,” Uhrman said.
“It could be another set-top [box]. It could be the TV itself. There’s a number of different ways that games can be played on the television, and we’re actively exploring all of them.”
Although it had a tough start, Ouyal launched an updated 16GB console in the US last month. One of Ouya’s co-founders, Muffi Ghadiali, also left the company in January.
Stay tuned for the latest updates, which likely won’t include Ouya’s being installed in your toilets or anything weird like that.
