Blizzard has revealed what’s inside the collector’s edition of Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls, the upcoming expansion to the popular ARPG.
The collector’s edition is available in both physical and digital versions. Aside from a copy of the game itself, the collector’s editions contain the following:
Physical Edition
- A copy of the official soundtrack.
- A 2-disc DVD/Blu-Ray “Behind the Scenes” featurette.
- A hardback artbook.
- In-game Spectral Hound vanity pet, ageless helm and Malthiel-inspired weapons for Diablo.
- In-game Treasure Goblin vanity pet for World of Warcraft.
- Crusader portraits and Malthiel decals for Starcraft 2.
It’s not currently known if the digital version comes with any additional extras, but it retails for the same price ($79.99) as the physical edition. Both are available to preorder now - the Physical edition through select retailers, and the digital version via Blizzard’s online store.
Reaper of Souls brings a large number of revisions and changes to the game, which has been met with criticism since its release due to a number of design decisions. The loot system and Paragon (end-game leveling) systems have been entirely overhauled, a 5th Act has been added to the singleplayer campaign, while players will also be able to wreak havoc with the new Crusader class. A new type of vendor - the Mystic - will allow you to re-roll item properties or change their physical appearance, outdoor areas in the expansion are now entirely randomized (previously certain elements were always present no matter how many times you played) and a number of new systems have been introduced in order to aid replay value.
Reaper of Souls is due to be released on March 25th for PC and Mac. A Playstation 4 version has been confirmed, though it’s currently not known whether or not the game will also be released for Microsoft’s Xbox One console, despite endlessly circulating rumors.
