[Spoiler Warning] Peter ‘Saruman’ Molyneux (Do not let him speak. He will put spell on us) along with his new studio 22 Cans have launched their block-poke-em-up, iOS and Android game, Curiosity.

The first game out of 22 Cans sees users tapping away at a giant cube, in hope of uncovering what secret-awesome-life-changing prize is at its centre.

[Spoiler] It’s a video.

The clever sausages over at Eurogamer have already taken a fine-tooth comb to the apps Terms & Conditions which state:

“Inside the Cube and under an undisclosed number of layers, there is an amazing discovery waiting to be found. The surface image on the Cube for the last layer will make it obvious to all that it is the final layer.

The person who removes the last cubelet on the final layer is the winner and will automatically be sent a video link on their device explaining what is at the centre of the cube.

The winner is free to do what they wish with the video link information - they can disseminate the link via social media or keep the content to themselves. However, the video link information should not be traded for any personal monetary gain.”

To recap: The user who breaks the final cube gets a link to a special video telling them what they’ve won.

The reasoning for this, if I may begin to ponder, is to avoid hackers hacking their way in. If it’s a link, 22 Cans decide when the video goes live; they could even check to see if the user has any mods running, presumably.

In other Curiosity news, we’ve also learned that despite only being live for a few hours, players have already amassed over 29 million broken cubes; getting ever closer to the grand total of around 60 billion.

Currently, none of the planned DLC has launched. Meaning those who decide to purchase the diamond pick-axe for £50,000 will have to use the in-game currency to buy it.

How much will it cost in-game, I hear you cry? A pittance at only 3 billion coins.
