Upcoming French-developed-and-published RPG Bound by Flame is set for release later this week - and, as is the fashion, there’s a launch trailer to celebrate.
We recently shared some stills of the friends and potential romances players can make. Keen-eared readers may find music in the trailer seems familiar to them, and for good reason: Olivier Derivière has lent his composing talent to the game. You may have come across his work in Remember Me (which we reviewed favorably) and the Assassin’s Creed games.
The game features a moral duality system, similar in concept to the Light-Dark mechanic in Bioware’s Knights of the Old Republic, or the Paragon-Renegade system (also Bioware’s) Mass Effect games. Bound by Flame’s key protagonist (the player) is a human possessed by a flame demon. You could say he was “Bound by Flame.” [Editor's note - don't ever do that again]
Bound by Flame is set for release on May 9 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PC. Curiously, there’s no word on an Xbox One release.
