Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare trailer empowers the player

A soldier from Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare calmly surveils his surroundings

With the release of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare swiftly upon us, it’s no surprise high-energy trailers are beginning to make their way into the wild. With the tagline “Power Changes Everything,” this new trailer has a little bit of everything, and promises the sort of high-budget, big set piece action that players have come to expect from Call of Duty titles.

On the heels of player interest seemingly cooling off of the Call of Duty games, a trailer with this much flair and energy shows that while the series may be facing a lull, it’s not for lack of trying. The trailer implies a movie quality campaign, aided no doubt by the casting of Kevin Spacey, but also new equipment for multiplayer, impressive graphics, higher speed gameplay with the addition of jetpacks and a more open stage design, and a brand new game mode for players to sink their teeth into.

With the title holding, at time of writing, two positive review scores on Metacritic, it would seem that the trailer isn’t far off from promising a solid title for fans of the genre. But with Titanfall, Destiny, Battlefield, and so many other FPS options also competing for the same fanbase, one has to wonder if it will be enough.
