Xbox One wins… an Emmy?!?!

The 66th Annual Technology and Engineering Awards, hosted by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in Las Vegas, saw Microsoft winning an Emmy award for their most recent console, the Xbox One - Strange, right?

The Xbox One received the award in the Television Enhancement Devices category - which has sort of flown under the radar in the past - thanks to the Xbox One’s television-on-demand and media center capabilities, such as its nifty OneGuide application which lets users see what’s coming up on the TV whilst they play games thanks to the Xbox One’s ‘Snap’ feature. This prestigious award puts Microsoft up there with previous winners such as Apple, Roku, TiVo and even Sony a good 10 or so years back.

Microsoft said that they were “proud to be awarded this honor” in a blog post acknowledging the win.
