Quantum Break delayed to 2016

Fresh on the heels of news that Remedy Entertainment’s Alan Wake has sold 4.5 million copies worldwide, they have now confirmed that upcoming Xbox One exclusive Quantum Break has been delayed to 2016.

There hasn’t been much news recently about Remedy’s upcoming game, so news of its release being moved back is not unexpected. In a statement made today on the official website, the developer announced that Quantum Break won’t be released until 2016 - but refused to give a reason beyond saying that the game needs more “polish”.

Quantum Break’s Creative Director, Sam Lake, stated in a blog post that “We thank our fans for their patience, and want them to know that the team is taking advantage of this opportunity to polish and fine tune the game to create the kind of standout entertainment experience they’ve come to expect from us.”

Quantum Break is a cover-based third-person shooter that will feature time manipulation powers. After completing a segment of the game, a digital episode will play that interacts with the game depending on what choices you’ve made. This concept is somewhat similar to the “Night Springs” television series from Alan Wake, which helps to explain and advance the plot at particular points during the game.

Chris really loves gaming. Probably an unhealthy amount. He plays most games (badly) and loves writing about his experiences.
