This week’s deals offer something for everyone, including a wide variety from gog.com with the start of their summer sale.
Steam
Steam’s sales this week open with a pretty solid variety. An Assassin’s Creed franchise sale for the more recent Assassin’s Creed titles, Skullgirls for $2.99, and Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty for $11.99.
As far as fighting games go, Skullgirls is a fantastic game to get into, with the higher level play capability while still having a robust tutorial system and a wide range of play skill within the general playerbase, doubly so for $2.99. Likewise, 50% off for Assassin’s Creed Unity isn’t bad for a recently released Assassin’s Creed game, even if our Unity review didn’t score it terribly highly at release.

gog.com has opened this week with their Summer Sale for 2015. The GOG.com frontpage has a small avalanche of sales ongoing, but the current bundles are the LucasArts Adventure bundle, the Dungeons and Dragons Remade bundle, the Heroes of Might and Magic pack, and the Summer S.T.A.L.K.E.R. bundle.
Long term readers of the weekly deals articles should know that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games will get an automatic recommendation. In addition, fans of classic Adventure and point-and-click games will find a lot to love in the LucasArts Adventure bundle.
IndieGameStand
This week’s pay-what-you-want title is The Sun At Night, “a 2D action platformer starring Laika the space dog. Diverging from the real Soviet history which saw Laika’s unfortunate demise on board Sputnik II, The Sun at Night takes place in an alternate history where the Soviets have become a technologically advanced empire and taken over most of the Western world.”

Bundle Stars has, as always, a very impressive list of bundles.

Having Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising and Red River in a bundle is pretty interesting, especially for such a low price-point for the series. Fans of more sim-like first person shooters will definitely find something to love from the Run & Gun bundle. Likewise, the Shadow of Mordor and F.E.A.R. bundles are still great selections for the price point.
Indie Gala
Indie Gala is still running its usual a new Monday bundle, with reprising Hump Day, Friday bundles, Bedlam, and May-Hem bundles. This week’s Monday bundle ($2.19 for 5 games.) is full of shooters this week. As with the past two weeks, the Hump Day bundle ($3.19 for 12 games.) has the space and sky theme, with Starlaxis Rise of the Light Hunters and Dogfighter. The Friday bundle ($3.19 for 12 games.) also trails from last week, with Retro/Grade and Pixel Piracy still in the mix. The Bedlam bundle ($3.19 for 10 games) continues as well, full of zombies, including early access for first-person shooter Bedlam. Also from last week is the May-hem bundle ($5.24 for 10 games), which includes the bafflingly silly Divekick, beautiful Vessel, and remarkable and strange Viscera Cleanup Detail: Santa’s Rampage.
New this week is the Painkiller bundle ($3.49 for 5 Painkiller games). Painkiller is a modern repository of classic first-person shooter tropes, including ammo and health pick-ups, and high-speed coverless shooting.
Humble Bundle
This week has something brand new, the Humble Nindie Bundle. For the first time ever, the Humble Bundle is offering indie titles for consoles, in this case the Nintendo WiiU and 3DS.
As with last week the bundle is Guacamelee: Super Turbo Championship Edition, Whoa Dave!, and Mighty Switch Force! Beating he average, which is $9.21 at time of writing, adds The Fall, OlliOlli, and Moon Chronicles. The new inclusions this week are Sportsball, Gunman Clive, and Bit.TRIP Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien. Paying over $10 will add Stealth Inc. 2 and SteamWorld Dig.
This week’s weekly bundle is the Relic Entertainment bundle. It holds Company of Heroes Complete Edition, Company of Heroes 2 - The Western Front Armies: Oberkommando West DLC, Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War, Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War II, the Company of Heroes 2 Soundtrack, and Digital Extras. For being the average, at time of writing $6.82, Company of Heroes 2, Company of Heroes 2 - The Western Front Armies: US Forces DLC, Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War II Retribution, Warhammer 40k: Space Marine. Paying $15 or higher will unlock Company of Heroes 2 - Ardennes Assault.
New this week is a traditional Humble Mobile bundle 13, with an average of $3.19. Pay what you want for Timelines: Assault on America Premium, The Ministry of Silly Walks, and Hellraid: The Escape. Above the average will include Puzzle Retreat, Worms 3, and Twisty Hollow.
Having a console-Humble Bundle is still incredibly fascinating. Likewise, Relic Entertainment is a big name in strategy games of that type, and is easily worth the buy if similar strategy games are your speed.
PlayStation Store
The PlayStation Store is has two major sales going on this week as well, with a Capcom sale, and an NBA 2K15 sale. The Capcom sale has a wide range of options available, including Okami HD ($4.99, PS3) and the recent Resident Evil remake ($15.99, PS3, PS4).
Xbox Live
Microsoft’s has several Spotlight sales this week, including Xbox One versions of Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light Redux, and FIFA 15 for Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
Nintendo Network
Nintendo’s Offers page continues to state the Mario vs Donkey Kong Tipping Stars cross-buy program. New this week is also the Don’t Starve: Giant Edition “Don’t Let Your Friends Starve” special, which gives buyers of Don’t Starve a free download code to give to their friends.
Although there are no shown sales on the offer page, there are likewise multiple indie sales constantly ongoing, and what appears to be a Spiderman themed sale as well.
