Warner Bros. Interactive has released the official trailer for next week’s slice of single-player DLC for Batman: Arkham Knight.
Batgirl: A Matter of Family puts players in the knee-high boots of Barbara Gordon, AKA Batgirl, AKA Oracle, as she attempts to rescue her father from the Joker’s clutches.
Set prior to the events of Batman: Arkham Knight (prior to the entire Arkham series, in fact), A Matter of Family was developed by Arkham Origins developer WB Montreal. Taking place in new locations and spanning a number of story missions, side content and new collectibles to find, Batgirl will battle side-by-side with Robin to take down enemies, while new hacking abilities add additional gameplay features to the mix.
Batgirl: A Matter of Family will be available to download from July 14th for owners of Arkham Knight‘s Season Pass, before being made available to all as a separate download from July 21st on Xbox One and PS4. The PC version of Arkham Knight is still unavailable, after Warner Bros. Interactive withdrew the game from sale due to its calamitous state.
In my review of Arkham Knight, published last week, I praised Rocksteady’s conclusion to the Arkham trilogy due to its excellent storyline. A few niggles like a sense of over-familiarity and over reliance on the Batmobile meant that the game wasn’t quite as excellent as it otherwise would have been, but didn’t prevent Arkham Knight from picking up an “excellent” 9/10 score.
“It’s not the best game in the series – that honor is still held by Asylum – but Batman: Arkham Knight is a game you want to savor, a game that you’ll want to take your time with simply because you don’t want it to end,” I wrote in my Batman: Arkham Knight review.
