Warner Bros. announces two new Lego games for 2015

Though in-depth details are pretty sparse, Warner Bros. has announced two new Lego titles coming in 2015, likely to the delight of many Lego fans out there.

Teased at the end of Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, which Max enjoyed despite it being “just another Lego game,”, Lego Jurassic World will be released something this coming June. The title will include elements of Jurassic Park, The Lost World, Jurassic Park 3, and the upcoming Jurassic World movie. The new movie is scheduled for release on June 12th this year, and it’s possible (and probable) that Warner Bros. will be timing the release of the Lego counterpart on a similar schedule.

Additionally, a followup from Lego Marvel Superheroes, titled Lego Marvel Avengers, will be available sometime this coming Fall. Avengers will focus on Marvel’s Avengers Assemble as well as the upcoming Age of Ultron movie, currently scheduled for release on May 1st. Hopefully, Avengers will take its cue from the AI and bug problems Dale found in Superheroes to produce more than yet another buggy Lego title, while expanding on the open-world gameplay which made that game so enjoyable.

The official Lego Facebook page just announced a pretty slick looking version of the S.H.I.E.L.D Helicarrier, too. It’ll be available in March and consists of nearly 3,000 pieces - so it should keep even the biggest kids busy for a while.

Generally, Lego titles are well-received, though they can easily suffer from “just another Lego game” syndrome. Here’s hoping more effort is placed on producing a solid title than mere Marvel/Jurassic Park fan service.
