Square Enix have just established two new web addresses that point towards two upcoming Tomb Raider games, in addition to trademarking the names corresponding to the two sites.

The websites in question are RiseOfTheTombRaider.com and LaraCroftAndTheTempleOfOsiris.com. The timing suggests that Square Enix wanted to keep the titles as secret for as long as possible before a potential E3 reveal.

Judging by the names, Rise of the Tomb Raider could well be the subtitle for the upcoming confirmed-in-development sequel to the Uncharted-esque 2013 Tomb Raider reboot. Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris on the other hand, sounds suspiciously like a sequel to the isometric co-op action-adventure Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light.

The Tomb Raider reboot depicted a young, vulnerable Lara Croft who was somewhat different from her usual depiction as a kickass heroine. Although Lara’s character grew throughout the story, she was simply established as a “survivor” rather than a gung-ho tomb-raiding archeologist. Rise of the Tomb Raider may act as the character journey that turns Lara Croft into the dinosaur-poaching badass that she was in the original Tomb Raider games.

We will likely have more details in the upcoming E3 event - check back with us for updates.
