The Witcher 3 Sells 4m Copies In 2 Weeks

CD Projekt RED has confirmed that The Witcher 3 has already sold 4m copies, despite the game only having been released 2 weeks ago.

CD Projekt co-founder, Marcin Iwinski, wrote in an open letter that “4 million RPG fans spending their hard-earned money on our game is a sign that we did something right, and you can be sure that we’ll harness all that positive energy and make the upcoming expansions worthy of the grand adventure that you’re telling us Wild Hunt already is!”

“Until then, keep on enjoying Wild Hunt, do not forget to grab your weekly set of free DLCs, and stay tuned for constant updates and enhancement to the game we are continuously working on.”

This is definitely a good sign for the company…

Terrible jokes aside, The Witcher 3 has been the biggest game launch in the UK this year, with its sales 608% stronger than the previous title The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings.

The Witcher 3 launched on May 19th for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Be sure to keep an eye out for our review, which should be posted sometime in the very near future. It’s safe to assume the review might be pretty darn positive though, considering Dale said in his Witcher 3 Pre-Review Impressions that “Rarely has an RPG felt so detailed, nor its world so alive and believable. Many had their doubts about whether the developer was up to the job of taking the complex branching narrative and moral choice of the first two games and making it work on such a grand scale, but CD Projekt RED has delivered what is not just one of the most satisfying and rich RPGs of the last few years, but what is possibly one of the best games ever made, in any genre.”

In the meantime, take a gander at the “Killing Monsters” cinematic trailer, I could honestly watch it all day.
