Indie development team Squatting Penguins has just announced that The Mims: Beginning is now freely available to download as an Open Beta on indiegogo.
As it reaches the end of its development period, the developers are seeking player feedback on the title so that they can make sure that it’s as good as it can be before its final release.
The game is compatible with Windows, Mac and Linux - so no matter what operating system you run, you’ll be able to experience it for yourself.
Reminiscent of like Lionhead Studios’ Black & White and Startopia by Mucky Foot Productions, The Mims: Beginning tasks players with looking after a colony of alien creatures inhabiting a series of floating islands. You’ll need to manage their happiness, build structures and expand your influence in order to succeed. For the first title from a small team of only 3 people, it certainly looks the business.
