With the release of The Last of Us: Remastered on the PS4, Naughty Dog has decided to show off their engine by equipping the game with a Photo Mode allowing the player to step into the developers shoes and explore the gorgeous graphics of their engine and snapshot your favorite angles as keepsakes.
With this feature birthed a plethora of photos and videos taken from the fan community who played the game, creating their own forms of photographic artwork using Naughty Dogs built in tool. There was even the trailer for the photo mode made entirely using just the feature by Grant Voegtle.
In response to this phenomenal outbreak of artistic experimentation from the community, Naughty Dog has decided to put those gaming artists to the test by hosting a Photo Mode contest, to recognize your photo mode talents.
Naughty Dog has decided to reward gifts such as poster sized images of your photo signed by the development team, statuettes of Joel and Ellie from the Pandemic Edition, previously exclusive to that version, The Art of The Last of Us by Dark Horse Comics and other great prizes.
The contest lasts until 23:59 EST, September 5. In order to participate, you must follow @Naughty_Dog on Twitter via #TLOUPhotoModeContest using the Share button on your PlayStation 4 controller. You simply need to specify your photo as environmental, action, or character. You also need to be a citizen of the United States and aged 18 years or older - something which is likely to be disappointing to the many EU fans of the game.
The photos must also not contain any person other than in-game characters. For more detailed information on the rules of this contest, visit the photo contest rules on the official website.
