Over the last couple of weeks there have been a couple of rumors circulating about a potential PlayStation 4 release of multi Game of the Year winner The Last of Us. The rumor was sparked when a Turkish PlayStation spokesperson revealed that the game was receiving a face lift for the new platform. Shortly thereafter internet sleuths spotted a posting on a Spanish game website. Finally a banner ad was spotted on the PlayStation store seemingly confirming the rumor.
The speculation came to end with a posting on the EU Playstation Blog this morning

Well, it’s no secret that we have been working night and day at the studio to bring 2013 Game of the Year, The Last of Us, to PS4. We’re calling it The Last of Us Remastered.
It goes on to detail what people can expect when the title hits store shelves later this year.
Higher resolution character models, improved shadows and lighting, upgraded textures, along with even more improvements.
The Last of Us Remastered will not only be an upgrade of visuals but will feature an exclusive commentary for all in-game cinematics from Creative Director and Writer, Neil Druckmann; Game Director, Bruce Straley; Troy Baker, who plays Joel; and Ashley Johnson, who plays Ellie.
The remastered edition is also set to feature the major DLC that has been released for The Last of Us. So far the confirmed content is:
- Left Behind single player expansion
- Abandoned Territories multiplayer map pack
- Reclaimed Territories pack – details will be coming soon on exactly what is included
The Last of Us Remastered is available for pre-order now with the following bonus items:
- 100 Supply Points (XP) for use in Factions mode
- Two special bonus skins for Joel and Ellie which will be unlocked after your complete the single player campaign
- Increased Crafting Speed for use in the Single Player Campaign
- Increased Healing Speed for use in the Single Player Campaign
- 9mm Reload Speed Increase Upgrade for use in the Single Player Campaign
- Rifle Clip Capacity Increase Upgrade for use in the Single Player Campaign
