Indie developer Endnight Games has released a bunch of new screenshots taken from in-development survival horror title, The Forest. Their release follows on from last week’s trailer, which showed off some disturbing new enemies, which can be seen in more detail here. In addition, the screenshots show off some of the features of the Unity 4 engine, which powers the game’s rather attractive visuals. Advanced lighting, motion blur and the scale of the game’s world can all be seen in the images.

“Our backgrounds in film visual effects and animation on projects such as ‘Tron: Legacy’, ‘The Amazing Spiderman 2’, and the ‘Twilight’ films have allowed us to utilize realtime technology to deliver a realistic looking and harrowing vision of horror, featuring some of the most believable and life like creatures you’ve ever seen in a video game,” the developer said in a statement released alongside the shots.

In addition, they’ve revealed how much players will be charged to gain access to the Alpha build of the game, which will be made available from May 22nd - $14.99 (which is about £9, or just under €11).

Check out the new shots below.
