A PC in your pocket? Sounds like one of those old PDA’s being advertised in the 90’s, but the Tango is so much more. It is literally a full PC in your pocket. Not a replacement, but actually a computer. Granted, the monitor, keyboard, and other peripherals are not included, but that is still quite the feet.
The Tango PC has recently shown up on IndieGogo searching for $100,000 in love to help bring this tiny miracle to life. When it is launched to retail it will contain a AMD A6-5200 Quad Core Processor, SODIMM DDR3-1600 socket x1 RAM ranging from 2GB to 8GB, and a SATA III mSATA SSD Socket x1 hard drive with anywhere from 32GB to 512GB, or higher, storage space. How big will it be to contain all of this raw power? 125mm long by 80mm wide by 13.5mm tall. Rough translation would be under 5 inches in length, just over 3 inches wide, and slightly over half an inch tall.
When you think about those dimensions, it is clear that you will not be able to plug in all your favorite devices. There is not enough room for it all! The folks at the Tango office in San Diego have thought of that too. The Tango dock comes equiped with one HDMI port, three USB 2.0 ports, one USB3.0 port, one RJ45 port, internal WiFi, an AV jack, and a DC 12V jack. What more could you hope for from a device this size?
With 15 days left, they have already collected over $65,000 so they seem well on their way to achieving their goals. The IndieGoGo campaign page doesn’t list any stretch goals at the moment, but I can assure you we will be keeping a close eye on this project to see how it develops.
