New screenshots have been released for Nosgoth, Square Enix’s free-to-play humans-vs-vampires MOBA, in development for PC by Psyonix.
For those not aware, Nosgoth is set in the Legacy of Kain universe, a series of classic action-adventure games that began all the way back in the early days of the first PlayStation with the top-down 2D Blood Omen, before moving into the third dimension with the rather excellent Soul Reaver.
Unlike previous games, however, this new title is a strictly multiplayer affair that sees two teams - humans and vampires - battling it out for control of a map. The change in gameplay style has drew no small amount or ire from franchise fans when the title was announced last year, who accused Square Enix of trampling over the franchise’s legacy. Still, we won’t know whether or not the shift in gameplay style will be worth it until the title is officially launched. There’s no date yet for when the game will be released.
