In an announcement at the Official Playstation Blog, Image & Form CEO Brjann Sigurgeirsson, the self-described “worst named CEO of the worst-named game development studio in the world” revealed that Image & Form’s breakout title, Steamworld Dig, will be headed over to both PS4 and Vita.
The game will release on March 18th in America and March 19th in the EU, with a list price of $9.99 and 8,99€ respectively. Upon release, Steamworld Dig will be discounted at 20% for Playstation Plus members during the first week of launch, and will also be featured in Sony’s Spring Fever promotion on PSN. Additionally, the game is a cross-buy, so any purchases on PS4 or Vita will also transfer to the other platform free of charge.
SteamWorld Dig has received a solid amount of coverage at Continue Play, as Dale Morgan reviewed the PC version of the title back in December last year, scoring it 10/10. The game was also the recipient of “best handheld game of the year” in our 2013 awards list.
We also took an in-depth look at Image & Form’s studio office in an exclusive two-part interview with CEO Brjann Sigurgeirsson about the history and development of the development studio, as well as the breakout success of SteamWorld Dig.
