Live long, and prosper, as the Vulcans in Star Trek are so fond of saying. So it’s perhaps fitting that Star Trek Online has, in fact, lived long - and indeed prospered.
While it’s not about to threaten the likes of World of Warcraft anytime soon, developer Cryptic Studio’s MMO has been pottering along quite happily for a few years now, quietly gathering up new fans and helping people boldly go where no one has gone before.
Now, the game’s publisher, Perfect World Entertainment, has announced that the next major content patch for Star Trek Online comes out this month. Season 9: A New Accord brings with it a new feature epsiode, new equipment, a new battlezone, and much more. To go along with the announcement, the publisher has announced that from April 14th through to the day of the update, players will be able to accrue bonus XP.
Season 9 is beaming down on April 22nd. If you’ve been away for a while, or just want to remind yourself of previous events in the game’s ongoing storyline, a new trailer has been released. Get yourself up to speed by watching it below.
