2XL Games released Spelltorn: Clash of Fates for iOS and Android devices. It plays like a turn-based RPG, and takes place within the mythical world of Masara - a land ravaged by magical warfare. Your goal is find magical artifacts strewn across Masara.
The trailer, which you can watch below, gives some insight into some of the gameplay features, such as armor and weapon customization, management of different character classes, and a glimpse at the game’s menu and HUD. It’s all of the things you’d expect from an RPG, condensed into mobile form.
The game will include both single player and online experiences. There will be PvP, item looting, various environment backdrops, and even a guild system. There is also in-game chat and a message system for communicating with your friends. The game features three main classes: Warrior, Mage, and Assassin, each with their own subclasses.
Unwilling to settle for mobile device limitations in UI and gameplay elements, Spelltorn incorporated a trading card-esque art style to complement these implementations. Intent on revolutionizing mobile MMO games, Spelltorn is a coupling of complex RPG mechanics and simpler mobile ones.
Spelltorn is available for free on iOS and Android devices, so there’s no excuse to at least give it a shot.
