During Sony’s CES 2014 press conference, Andew House, President and Group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment, made a huge announcement for a service called Playstation Now, which allows users to play some of Playsation’s greatest hits without the need for a console.
The service works by streaming data from company servers, and will be available to use on the Playstation 4, Playstation 3, Playstation Vita, and other third-party products such as smartphones and tablets. Demo games at CES include The Last of Us, Beyond: Two Souls, and God of War: Ascension, and although at this time tech bloggers are reporting a slight perceptible lag in the service, Playstaion Now does not officially roll out until the summer.
This will give Sony plenty of time to work out the lag issues and bugs, and a restricted test of the service in the US later this month will hopefully work out all perceived issues for a great launch of the Playstation Now service this summer.
