Those with access to the Apple App Store or Google Play may already be familiar with the glorious handiwork of Christian Whitehead. Not only is Whitehead responsible for porting Sonic CD to Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network back in December of 2011, but he’s also the driving force behind the iOS and Android remakes.

Speaking via Twitter Whitehead confirmed that he’d “Love to see” Sonic 1 and Sonic 2 Remastered on PC and other platforms, but follows it up by stating that there’s nothing to confirm at this point.

Shame.

sonic boom characterRather than a standard port, both Sonic 1 and 2 Remastered offers players the option to unlock extra characters upon completion. Meaning, should the player fancy playing through the entirety of Sonic 1 as Knuckles, they can.

The news comes a few months after Sega announced a redesign for Sonic and co. for his latest outing in Sonic BOOM; which features Sonic in a Nathan Drake-style get up, Steampunk Tails, and an over-sized Knuckles.

What do you think? Would you buy Sonic Remastered on PC or console? Shout out in the comments below.
