Developer Deep Silver has announced that their upcoming ARPG Sacred 3 will be released on August 5th for Xbox 360, PC, and PlayStation 3. With gameplay inspired by the classic Gauntlet franchise, the Sacred franchise has been noted for its seamless drop in, drop out competitive co-op play, as well as its massive single-player campaigns.

Pre-orders for Sacred 3 are also available today, in the form of a new playable character Malakhim, who uses blood magic to defeat enemies. There is also new Underworld Story mission pack, and Z4ngr13f Weapon Spirit exclusive GameStop pre-orders - and no, you’re not the only one arching your eyebrows at the clear reference to Capcom’s pile-driving Russian wrestler.

Weapon Spirits are a new feature added to Sacred 3, allowing players to use interchangeable enhancements on their weapons to add stats and buffs.

Here’s a few new screenshots to whet your appetite:

There’s sure to be many more details released before the August release date, but fans of the series can expect the same classic fast paced action that the franchise has become known for. While you wait check out the CGI trailer from a few months back, as well as a hand full of screenshots recently released. In the meantime, take a look at the latest trailer below.
