Demolition derby and soccer hybrid Rocket League is to receive a boost thanks to a newly-announced DLC pack, developer Psyonix has announced.
The Supersonic Fury DLC will add two new Battle-Cars to the game, both with an international theme. The Dominus is an over-the-top American muscle car, while the Takumi is a souped-up Japanese street racer. Both cars have six different decals for garage customization, but can only be played in the DLC.
In addition to the new Battle-Cars, perhaps paying homage to Rocket League‘s gameplay roots in soccer; one of the new wheel sets is called Cristiano (incidentally the same first name of soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo) and is a soccer-ball themed design. Who wants to bet that the next DLC will have a wheel set named Lionel (Messi)? A spinner wheel set is included too.
You’ll also be able to style your car in five new paint types including “Brushed Metal”, “Carbon Fiber”, “Metallic Pearl”, “Pearlescent” and “Wood”. Two new rocket boosts, “Nitrous” and “Burnout”, will also be available. To cap it all off, there’ll be a handful of new trophies to unlock.
The Supersonic Fury DLC will be release in “early August”, and will set you back $3.99/ €3.99. No UK price is listed, but expect that to convert to around £3.

As well as Supersonic Fury, Psyonix has also announced a free update for Rocket League, that will see a number of different things added to the game for all players. 70 new country flags to display on your car will become available, in addition to a new map named “Utopia Coliseum”.
A new spectator mode will let you watch live games in real-time from any angle in the arena, and further enhancements to goal explosions and demolitions are also planned. To top it all off, electronica group Hollywood Principle’s brand new song Firework is being added to the soundtrack.
