We’ve written about Project CARS before but it seems we don’t ever have much more to say than “Wow, it looks pretty”.

The Community Assisted Racing Simulator (that’s what the “CARS” stands for, by the way) first showed up on our radar back in April with an impressive looking gameplay trailer. Developer Slightly Mad Studios has now put up a selection of screens for the upcoming Racing Sim, showing off weather effects such as puddle reflections, track slick, and rain droplets sliding down car frames.

Project CARS has been in development since October 2011 and is due to be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows PC, Linux/SteamOS and Wii U (yeah, you read that last one right).

If you like the look of Project CARS but find simulation isn’t your thing you might be more interested in World of Speed, a more arcade-like take on the genre in simultaneous development by the same developer. Regardless of which one you’re more interested in, based on the screens below I think we can all agree both games look bonnet-drippingly brilliant.
